Connect Claude Desktop
1. Open the configuration file
Claude Desktop reads MCP servers from claude_desktop_config.json.
| OS | Path |
|---|---|
| macOS | ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json |
| Windows | %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json |
Open Claude Desktop, go to Settings, then Developer, then “Edit Config” to open this file directly.
2. Add the Nucifra server
Add this block under mcpServers. Keep any server you already have.
{
"mcpServers": {
"nucifra": {
"url": "https://mcp.nucifra.com/mcp"
}
}
}
3. Restart Claude Desktop
Quit Claude Desktop and open it again. Ask the agent to use a Nucifra tool, for example “list my Nucifra files”. A Connect card appears. Sign in with Google or GitHub. The tool call finishes on its own after you sign in.
Troubleshooting
- No Connect card appears. Confirm the JSON is valid. A trailing comma breaks the whole file.
- “Could not connect to MCP server.” Check your network. Nucifra needs no local process and no API key for this path.
- Sign-in works but tools fail. You are over a plan limit. The tool result names the limit and a link to fix it.
